I moved to Stow about a year ago and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions that my husband and I made. It is only 20 minutes away from where I grew up but I never took the time to to explore other areas besides the neighboring cities of my town. But we fell in love with a home and decided to venture out to Stow and I am so glad we did! We live in a great area with amazing neighbors that have been so helpful to us as first time homeowners! Everyone we meet around town is so friendly and when I saw an opportunity to give back to the community that we love so much I couldn't pass up that chance. A local restaurant owner passed away recently from an aggressive from of cancer and there will be a benefit dinner for his family this Saturday! There will be baskets to bid on and among those baskets will be a chance to bid on a portrait session from Darcy Fine Photography! Cancer has taken many great people from this world, especially some family members of mine that were near and dear to my heart, so I am always looking for ways to give back and support the families of those people taken far too soon.
If you are looking for something fun to do this Saturday and also want to support a family in need, be sure to check out the benefit in John Ziegler's honor. A John Ziegler Family Cancer Benefit will take place May 21 from 2 to 10 p.m. It will be at the Acker-Moore Memorial Post (VFW Post 4738 and American Legion Post 175), 3733 Fishcreek Road, Stow.
